Developed by six Epitech students, hi-tech lovers, Everlastick is a software that allow users to safely carry their desktop on an USB key. This project, made possible through the EIP (Epitech Innovative Projects), is qualified for the final of the “Espoirs Européens de l’Innovation 2009″ contest.

This contest, orginized since seven years by Innovact, with the help of European Commission and the “Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie” (CCI) of Reims, attract spotlight on the most creative projects held by students or young reseachers of all Europe.

To qualify for this contest, students and researchers must first pass the strict selection. Only thirty applies are pushed to the final, among them, Everlatick. Everlatick is a real technical innovation, this mobile solution support many different operating systems, and allow the user to configure his own private desktop on a simple USB key, by choosing his own modules and applications (Text editor, Web browser, …). If this ergonomical tool satisfy the growing need for mobility, he also answer the need for security, because it board a encrypted software to securize the key. The students have well-though their product: « After conducting a study of the mobile application market, we realized that the existing solutions were lacking one functionality or the other, neither provied the security and the mobility at the same time. That’s why we started our project. », Salah Azzoug, Everlastick team member explains.

The finale phase of the compétition will occur on March 24 2009. The goal is to present the project in front of a board of profesionnals and journalists, leaded by Luuk BORG, Director of the General Secretariat of  Eureka, and responsible for the european financial program Eurostars. This board will nominate the projects that are the most audacious, the more creativity and that are the more professionals.

The winners will get 3000€ cash prize for the first, 1500€ for the second and third. These cash prizes will be dedicated to the development of their project. They will benefit of the help of experts during the development of their project, and media coverage.
