BootTruster website

Welcome on BootTruster website

BootTruster is an end studies project created by a group of 5 students from Epitech school (Paris)

Our project focus on data and full disk encryption. It is divided in two parts, both of the projects are using Trusted Platform Module (TPM) chips. For more explication about this chip, you can see our article about it.

FileTruster is a data encryption project, which permit to cipher your data thanks to the TPM chips into the operating system.

BootTruster is the second part of our project, which focus on TrueCrypt, which is a free On-The-Fly disk encryption software which run on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.

So BootTruster aims to consolidate the security model of TrueCrypt using TPM (Trusted Platform Module) chips.

These TPM chips permit for example to store cryptographic keys, and will permit for example to avoid the possiblity to use bootkit against TrueCrypt.

For more information about bootkit, you can read our article about it, which is a small explanation about how work a rootkit. If you want to see more technical details about bootkit, you can see Peter Kleissner's work on http://www.stoned-vienna.com/
